Facing new fears in foreign lands...

Tuesday 23 March, 2010

Well as predicted, Rick’s gamble ended his journey at Camp Biggest Loser. My heart really went out to him. I hope he doesn’t allow this to haunt him because he should be very proud of everything he has achieved in the house.

This wonderful young man has transformed his life by losing an amazing 61 kilos and he is now able to give a precious gift to his child. This gift is not just about how to lose weight and create a healthy lifestyle... it is about believing in yourself, discovering that you are capable of fantastic things and learning to live, not just exist.

Rick, hold your head high and remember the main reason you came to Camp Biggest Loser... You should walk out proud knowing you achieved what you came for.

The kids and the Commando

I must admit I’m a real fan of the Commando. I think each time we see him we get a glimpse of the kind and caring, albeit, extremely scary man that he is!

I still feel Phil and Joe are in the best situation right now. Firstly, they don’t have to deal with the pressures of production every day. When I say production I mean the filming of the show – it takes a long time to film a TV show, and can involve walking in and out of a door 20 times! LOL. However, for that opportunity I’d have been willing to walk in and out 100 times!

The boys in the desert also don’t have to deal with other Camp Biggest Loser distractions: Elimination, challenges and the dreaded Temptation! Given their sensational losses this week, I think they are big threats.

Face your fears

I love this part of the show! Like all the contestants, I remember being so blown away by the fact I had made it to the makeover, and then to the Face Your Fears trip away! It was like a dream.

On my series, the final six contestants went to Hawaii. When we got our little envelope and Kirstin read it out, Big Gary was so excited he jumped up on the coffee table and basically snapped it in half! It was the first of many memorable moments that came out of that trip.

Another magic moment came when boarding the plane. When I sat in the seat, my butt actually fitted!
For me, Hawaii will always have a special place in my heart and I’m sure the current contestants will feel the same about their trip.

I know they are aware that they will be pushed emotionally, spiritually and physically more than ever before, however, I don’t think the contestants realise how much of an influence this trip will have on the rest of their lives. Contestants, you are in for a sensational time of fear, pain, emotion and self discovery. My message to you all is take it in, let it go and run with it forever!

Believe in yourself,

Ali x
