Heart or head?

Tuesday 6 April, 2010

Would you vote with your heart or your head? And which is the smartest choice on elimination day?

When I was a contestant, I weighed up the pros and cons of my decisions but, in the end, my heart always won. Maybe this could have been the difference between being runner up and winner. But my vote was always one that I could sleep with because I believe what you put out there comes back in the end.

Looking back at my time as a contestant, every decision was the right one, because in my head I won. I went on The Biggest Loser to change my life and I did, so I won! I actually got so much more than I could have ever dreamed.

However, sitting on the couch, watching instead of playing, it’s a different story! To ensure his place in the game, I say Shannon should have written Lisa’s name down at last night's elimination.

Instead, Phoebe was sent home but she was gracious and ready to go it alone with her marathon training. I wonder if, like me, she's already got what she was dreaming of from this game.

The hardest part

Now, the final three think that the 42km marathon is going to be tough. But, let me tell you, it will not be the hardest part of this game. The most difficult thing will be when all the eliminated contestants walk back into the house.

Speaking from experience, there are many twists and turns in this game, but when the contestants you’ve outlasted come back, it really messes with your mind. They’ve gone home and hugged their loved ones. They’ve had no challenges, no game playing and no restrictions to contend with, and then they just waltz back in and take their position in the game!

In my series, the final four of us made a pact to only vote for the returning contestants on elimination day... Will this trio do the same?

Stay tuned for fireworks

With the Commando’s boys on their way back from their northern adventures and the return of the eliminated contestants, there are bound to be some serious fireworks this week at Camp Biggest Loser.

Speaking of the Commando (which I must say is very easy to do), he said the one saying that I truly believe and have proven to myself many times: “Your body will do what your mind tells it too.”

Remember this quote. That’s my advice to anyone who has made the decision to change their life. If you tell yourself you can’t do it, your body will obey. So just think of what you can do when you believe in yourself...
