Watching the Season 5 contestants complete a marathon has been an absolute honour!
These contestants should be so very proud of what they have accomplished: there are not many people who can say they have run a marathon. And if any of you needed inspiration or proof of what can be done if you put your mind to it, then this is it.
Caitlin was totally amazing! What a perfect example of the power of mind over body she is. At the 18km mark, she was going to quit. She was in pain, she wasn’t coping mentally or physically, and she didn’t think she could go any further. Her plan was to get to the 21km mark, and stop.
But, even when she hurt and thought she could go no more, she was able to find something inside of her to push past the pain and negative thoughts, and she made it all the way to 42km finish line. I have never seen someone look so proud as she did when she crossed that line.
Each and every one of those contestants would have had to deal with the same pain, negativity and exhaustion, and they chose to keep going. The Commando is right when he says, “the body will do what the mind tells it”.
This is such a great life lesson and I think Caitlin was really able to put that into perspective.
You are always going to have obstacles in life that may cause you pain and may even make you fall. However, it’s how you choose to recover that’s important… whether you allow the pain to define and beat you, or you pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and emerge stronger than ever before.
Well, we now are in a crazy sprint to the finale and we have two extra people in the equation. It’s going to be very interesting to see how the dynamics at Camp Biggest Loser change. There is only one way to be safe from now on… and that’s to never fall behind the yellow line.
Believe in yourself,
