Not for the faint hearted

Wednesday 14 April, 2010

Last night’s episode gave me goose bumps – for a whole lot of reasons. Of course there was the adrenaline pumping 'super challenge': retrieving a flag from the bottom of a tiny ladder while dangling over a deep, deep canyon is definitely not for the faint hearted.

But it was Shannon that really shook me up. At the beginning of this series I thought there was no way that this guy was going to last. I thought that he didn’t have the attitude that would take him through to the end.

However, since his time in New Zealand, there has been a massive change. He is taking responsibility for himself, his decisions and his actions. There are no more excuses. The transformation is truly is a wonderful thing to watch.

As is his relationship with Lisa. I loved watching them together, supporting each other. In many ways those two really did win last night’s super challenge. As Lisa said, “Seeing Shannon’s face and the self belief come back in was worth a million dollars to me”.

Counting the calories

Daina’s choice of the chips in the second part of the super challenge literally made me gasp. There weren’t a lot of good choices left, but chips? She truly did crumble under the pressure.

So Wayne ultimately took home the super challenge prize and got to move one of the bracelets as well. Once again Shannon’s attitude impressed me. When handed back the nothing bracelet that he has worn most of the series, he said that it changed nothing! That gave me goose pimples again!

I can’t wait for tonight, it looks like Phil and Joe are in for a big training session. And the contestants back at Camp Biggest Loser are taking a bash at their former demons.

Believe in yourself,

Shannon proves that you can beat your negative thoughts, and achieve anything, if you set your mind to it. As Lisa says in this clip, “he had so much self doubt before he did it and he nailed it”.
