Phil and Joe have come so far, yes of course in distance, but most of all, in life. They have grown so much in the Northern Territory, have beat so many fears. They have truly transformed themselves in so many ways. It was great to see how proud they were when they successfully herded the cattle and then when they jumped out of that tiny plane to make that spectacular skydiving return to Camp Biggest Loser.
How far they’ve come was really highlighted by the flashbacks to their former selves. Those flashbacks make me cringe – I still struggle when I see my ‘before’ photos, so I know how confronting it is to see yourself as an obese person. When I look at the ‘before’ me I see all my old feelings, all those excuses I used to make. I see a person that was existing, not living. I see how the weight was controlling me. But now it is the other way round!
Sitting through flashbacks seemed to be just as uncomfortable for Phil and Joe. Joe in particular. I loved how he summed up why he was never going back, he said: “Life is too fun.”
I was so impressed by Daina last night. She beat the boys in both the rafting and the kayaking! And then she broke the record as the fastest female in Australian Biggest Loser history. She might not have the weight to be the Biggest Loser but she really is a star. And as you already know, I really love the girl power.
