I take my hat off to the brothers Nathan and Andrew – they embarrassed the other couples in the water ball challenge, they smashed the weigh-in and proved that they truly are “the biggest force in the game.”
And all this with a failed sabotage strategy! I cringed a little, in fact a lot, when I saw the sisters, Holly and Mel, conspire with the brothers to not make an effort with their diet and exercise and therefore make the average couple score easier to beat. I really don’t like that way of playing the game.
Holly’s taking some pretty big risks, though, because when you play with fire you’re sure to get burnt! Which is why I was delighted to see her pull a big number on the scales – she must be the first contestant in Loser history to be disappointed with a score of 6.1kg!
Disappointment aside, I thought everyone scored really well, especially considering it's the fourth week of the game. You can really start to see the difference in the contestants, can't you?
Meaghan said she didn’t notice the change in herself but I certainly do. Sean is looking fantastic – you really notice the difference in his face – and Sharif has a whole different look and much more confident air to him. Holly and Mel looking are looking almost skinny (even if they’re not trying to!) and Teresa is also looking fantastic – she’s really trimmed down around the middle.
Did you hear Teresa when she yelled from the scales, “Hey, the bloody diary’s correct!” She was referring to the diary’s weekly summary which contestants (who use the diary on a daily basis) have started to use to predict their weight loss.
To lose a kilo a week, you need an energy deficit of 7000 calories so Teresa would have had a weekly balance of -45,000 calories to lose that massive 6.5kg. Wow! That girl must be doing some serious exercise.
I hope the other couples commit to their diaries and make a massive effort this week – I’d hate to see the brothers’ success to go to their heads! When Andrew said, “We are the biggest force in this game and no one can get rid of us!” I thought, oh, please! Just you wait little brother…
Until then, I’m worried about Ben and Sean and Bob and Tiff – I don’t think either couple should feel safe going into tonight’s elimination. Be sure to tune in at 7PM on TEN for all the drama and then check your inbox in the morning for my daily update.
If you missed last night's show, you can watch the full episode at The Biggest Loser TV show website.
I’ve shared my favourite segment below – it’s where Teresa yells, "Hey, the bloody diary's correct!" and the smile is wiped off Holly's face after losing 6.1kg.
