Weigh-in 4

Mind over matter

The Biggest Loser Club Second Chance Team - the best of the rest!

This weigh-in has seen the Second Chance team lose an impressive 43.2kg, following the all-new Biggest Loser Club Meal Replacement Program, taking their total combined weight loss so far to 232.7kg. They are now one step closer to reaching their weight-loss goals and also that all important ticket to The Biggest Loser Finale.

Biggest Loser Couple

Fiancés: Jodie and Craig

It was Jodie and Craig that were crowned The Biggest Loser Couple at the fourth weigh-in, losing a combined total of 8kg. Craig was also the individual Biggest Loser with a 5kg weight loss, while Jodie was the best performing female, shedding 3kg. Wow, what a week!

Jodie puts her success down to the simplicity of the Meal Replacement Program and her new exercise regime. “We had a session with our personal trainer (I’m still convinced she is trying to kill me!) and then we went for a 5km walk in the park,” she says.

Doing so much exercise has even allowed Jodie to indulge in a few sweet treats. “I’m loving the Meal Replacement Program — it’s helped me get my calories under control so I was able to treat myself to a dessert and some chocolate this week!”

Craig not only has to lose weight, but also completely retrain his mindset. “While I’m eating I find myself looking around to see how much more I can fit in.”

Despite being the Biggest Loser this week, Craig still struggled with his old demons. “I had to battle with that bit of my brain that wants to eat as much as possible,” he explains. However Craig stood firm and stuck to his correct portion sizes, thanks to the help of the portion-controlled Meal Replacement Program.

Although Craig feels different, he did have a low moment. “I caught my reflection in the TV and I still look so big. I can’t believe it’s me! I see a different me through my eyes now, but it’s great motivation to carry on!”

Overcoming challenges

Despite a challenging week, each contestant overcame their personal hurdle and realised how far they’ve come in their weight-loss journey, both physically and mentally.

Twenty-nine-year-old nurse Karina Vagg admits she resorted to her old habit of emotional eating. “I was home alone and felt sad so ordered a pizza — an old foe to spend the night with.” However, Karina picked herself up, stuck to the Meal Replacement Program and recorded a loss of 1.8kg.

Despite picking up a foot injury, Jamie Smith boxed off 2.5kg this week. He also struggled to stick to his menu plan due to work commitments, but thanks to the time and space gained through the easy-eating Meal Replacement Program, he found the confidence to create his own healthy dinners. Jamie says, “I’m learning skills that’ll last a lifetime, and keep me on track!”

Kate Ramsden also had a challenging week and caved in to temptation, however her positive attitude has seen her get back on track. "I am choosing to get back on track in order to achieve my goals," she reveals. "I will follow the Meal Replacement Program, I will exercise and I will use my diary,"

While others are overcoming challenges, Kate Smith is setting them. "I want to lose 10kg in the next four weeks!" says the thirty-one-year-old. Kate also reveals, "My family have commented on a difference in my appearance and how healthy and happy I look. It was so rewarding!"
