Welcome to my blog – Loser is back!

I've been so excited about Series 5 of The Biggest Loser with nine new couples battling it out for this year's crown. I'm really looking forward to sharing their journey to a better future.

It's shaping up to be the toughest series ever, with the contestants taking on harder physical challenges and facing even greater temptations. And this year's show has a brand new host, former Olympic swimmer, Hayley Lewis.

I'll be blogging about the show daily in the run up to Finale so make sure you check-in – I'll share my insights into what's happening at Camp Biggest Loser and who looks likely to win this year's ultimate battle of the bulge.

Week 7: Desert drills with The Commando

Will power is truly tested at Camp Biggest Loser, as two contestants face The Commando’s gruelling training camp, and world surfing champion Layne Beachley checks-in with some inspiring advice about setting personal goals.

The makeover family reveal was an emotional rollercoaster for the contestants. Do they have the strength to stay on track?

Most of the contestants are playing it safe, resisting the Temptation challenge and controlling their training and diet. But, when the stakes are high, could safety be the most risky tactic?

Week 6: Steps to success

Whether it's resisting the temptation of chocolate or remaining focused until the end of a tough challenge, the contestants are becoming acutely aware of how their actions will shape their success in the future.

Week 5: Lies and excuses

As Phil sets a Biggest Loser weight-loss record, some contestants remain stuck in a rut of excuses and lies, while others are finally learning to face up to the truth and be honest with themselves.

Week 4: Making the right choices

As the contestants learn about the importance of making the right choices along their weight-loss journey, the yellow girls pull some big numbers at the weigh-in and show they are not intimidated by the big boys.

Week 3: 'The Firm' stands strong

In this week's elimination, personal game plans were pushed aside and commitment to The Firm's code prevailed, proving that a strong alliance exists within The Biggest Loser house.

Week 2: The cracks start to show

It's still early days, but already the physical and mental strength of some of the contestants seems to be wavering. Who's really got what it takes?

Week 1: What a start!

The contestants face their first weigh-in and tackle their first challenge – running the final 4km of the marathon they will run in three months time.
