Resisting everything… except Temptation!
Friday, 19 March 2010
Temptation can lead us to make some very crazy decisions! Especially when you’re playing The Biggest Loser to win and you’re completely focused.
The game is really hotting up and, with the prize of a week’s immunity for the contestant that eats the most calories in the fantasy food room, there was everything to play for in this Thursday's Temptation challenge.
I’m surprised that more of our game-players didn't play strategically this week. They’re playing it safe, resisting Temptation and controlling the controllable: training and diet.
That dining room was like Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory – total fantasy! A chocolate fountain, fatty foods, fizzy drinks... All high-calorie tastes to get the contestants' mouths watering.
Yet only Rick let loose, consuming two burgers, a sausage roll, chips, a doughnut, lamington and fizzy drinks – a whopping 2,791 calories – to secure his place in the Camp for another week.
Phil and Joe may be a world away from ‘food heaven’ and the Temptation challenge but I really felt for them. The move up to the Northern Territory has really shaken Phil especially – and it’s understandable.
It’s hard enough trying to make Camp Biggest Loser your home. Phil and Joe have had to work really hard to feel secure and establish a routine. So, to have the rug pulled from under their feet will weigh heavily on them, both emotionally and at weigh-in. Poor Phil looks totally defeated at the moment. He needs a good result this week on the scales to get into a better emotional space.
And Commando Steve is relentless! The training these two are enduring is seriously tough. But I think they are going to blow away the other contestants when they walk back into the competition.
Oh, and just a quick note to the producers… I demand that the Commando do all his training on camera without his shirt from now on!
