Jodie Weber
Age: 40
Occupation: School Teacher
State: NSW
Now: 100.1kg
Goal: 73kg
Primary school teacher Jodie Weber comes from a family that excels in sport, including a young Jodie herself. Now weighing in at 100kg, the glamorous 40-year-old is determined to lose weight.
As well as for their own health, Jodie and her sister Kellie want to lose weight for their mum, Yvonne, who has been battling cancer for over a year. Jodie says, “She really wants us to lose weight and get healthy. My dad Bob has had a number of strokes and he is heavily overweight. He is a time bomb ready to explode. I’m hoping that watching his daughters lose weight will encourage him to turn his life around and join us before it’s too late. I love my parents very much and would love to make them proud of us.”
Jodie picked her sister Kellie for the Second Chance challenge because, “She knows all my weak points and is going through what I’m going through. She understands how hard it is to lose weight and with her competition and support, I know we can do it.”

Kellie Martin
Age: 32
Occupation: Housing Officer
State: QLD
Now: 110.3kg
Goal: 71kg
Over the last 10 years 32-year-old Kellie Martin has been competing in outrigging canoe paddling, and met her second husband when she was competing competitively. Kellie gained weight rapidly during her pregnancy, not helped when an old injury meant she was unable to exercise.
“My dream is to compete in the outrigging canoe paddling world challenge in Hawaii, a 68km marathon race from one island to another. I need to be able to get myself in and out of the canoe while it’s still moving and this is something I struggle with at my current weight.
“Recently, I was trying to get into the canoe from the water and kept falling back in the water. I let my teammates down and I felt like a failure. That was when I knew that it was time to reclaim my life and rise to the challenge.”
