Update 10

Whoops! Didn’t find the time to enter my diary this week!

Update 9

Whoops! Didn’t find the time to enter my diary this week!

Update 8

This week has been great. I have put extra effort into my training, especially with my personal trainer.  I stood on the scales this morning and was a bit disappointed considering how much I had put in this week, but I will measure myself tonight and hopefully I will see great results.

I started my new job on Monday and was planning to wear a suit that I had bought a long time ago in the sales; it was a little too small for me then. I picked it up from the dry cleaners and when I went to wear it on Monday the skirt fell off! I was a little stressed as I hadn’t planned on a second option, but at the same time, I felt extremely happy about it being too big! I never got to wear that suit (it was too small then and now it is too big. Yay!).

I am planning on having a big week again on the exercise front. I have boxing, spinning, gym, personal training… double digits here I come!

Update 7

This week has been great. I have been keeping up the exercise with my trainer at the gym and I feel great (but a bit sore).

I have put in an amazing effort exercise-wise mixing it up with personal training, gym work and I also did the 1000 Steps climb at Dandenong. The climb was very hard and took me one hour and 15 minutes to get up and back again. I want to do it next weekend too and I plan to beat that time, too.

Food-wise I am eating better than ever and really enjoying all of the goodness I am putting into my body.

Update 6

This week I have lost 2kg. I have now officially lost over 20kg! It is the best feeling. I have increased my training to running 30 minutes, twice a day. I can’t believe that I can do it and am so proud of myself.

Last night I had my first personal training session and I thought I was doing well until I met up with her and she pushed me to the limit, but I felt exhilarated afterwards! On the weekend I went for a two-hour hike. Two months ago this would never had been in my weekend plans. I enjoyed it so much.

This past week I have been extremely busy at work and the Meal Replacements have been a godsend with my busy schedule. I had a wedding on Saturday and I had two meals to choose from; salmon or rack of lamb. Unfortunately I don’t like seafood so I had the lamb. I felt extreme guilt, but as I had been at the wedding from 3pm in the afternoon and all of the canapés were out of bounds to me, I was starving by the time it arrived at the table.

On the plus side, everyone at the wedding complemented me on how great I looked and I was wearing my new dress and felt great. I have done plenty of exercise this week and feel better every time I push myself just that little bit further.  So overall I am feeling good!

Update 5

My week was good. My Dad and two brothers came down from Queensland to visit me and they stayed for the week. What with working and doing something with them every night, I didn’t fit much exercise into the week. My eating is fine, but the less I exercised the more I found I didn’t want to do it, but I forced myself to get back on track and am doing OK again now.

Had a nice weekend at the beach with my family and I made sure I went on plenty of walks. I am trying to get back into the swing of things at work and home/diet/exercise and I hope to have a better and more successful week this week.

My friends are just so supportive of me; they offer to come on walks with me and really encourage me along the way. I have even inspired a few people to start their own weight-loss journey and I feel really pleased they have been inspired by me. It is so nice to give them advice as well (who would have thought it?) and with a loss of 2.1kg it has been a really good week.

The other members of the Second Chance Challenge team are very supportive and I am building great friendships with them, which is lovely.

Update 4

This week I headed off to the country with seven friends. Every year we pick somewhere different and this year we chose a beautiful lodge down in Bairnsdale on the lake. It was wonderful! There were times where I wanted to eat the naughty foods my friends had brought eg eggs, bacon, sausages etc, but I was organised and took plenty of salad, vegies, chicken and all of The Biggest Loser Club Meal Replacements with me.

I enjoyed all of the activities, like bike riding and tennis. It was the first holiday that I stayed active all the way through and I didn’t just party. It felt good to be walking and swimming and all of my friends were so encouraging. Driving home to Melbourne after thinking about the week away, I felt extremely proud of myself and had a really great time.

Update 3

This week mentally was the best week I have had. I had to deal with a lot of food in work meetings and I was prepared! I ate beforehand or afterwards, instead of eating all of the cakes, slices and hot food provided at the meetings. The best part was that nothing seemed to faze me so I must be doing something right!

Exercise wise, I have been going to the gym and walking every day for an hour and sometimes more. I feel great! I have heaps of energy through the day at work, and I am more focused. I have realised that no one can do this for me but me; I am the only one that can control my life and my health. Having said that, I went out with some workmates on Saturday night and I did have a few drinks. I was upset on Sunday and I felt that I had let myself down, but now I am moving on from this and after the guilt ridden day I had yesterday, I’m going to make sure it doesn’t happen again. See you in week four!

Update 2

Overall, this has been a good week for me despite quite a few ups and downs. I have found eating out a bit challenging, however I have not strayed from the Meal Replacement Program. I have been very good, but it hasn’t been easy.

Exercise wise, I have only worked out three times, so this week I really have to step up and go to the gym at least five times (I know that the only person I am letting down is myself).

On the flip side, I feel really good for:

  • Not giving up
  • Eating so healthy – I can actually see the change in my skin and I feel full of energy
  • Losing centimeters off everywhere – that really is a positive!

Looking forward to week three – see you then!

Update 1

Day one. Wow! I am very excited to start my journey. Today, the first day, has not been too bad. I went out to dinner for a friend’s birthday and I had a chicken salad and a bowl of steamed vegies. To drink I had two soda waters with lemon (in a wine glass just to make myself feel better!). I have done well and am very proud of myself.

On Saturday my family kept me busy in the morning but later I went to visit some friends and when I arrived (tuna salad in hand!) they were all sitting out in the sun drinking bourbon (my fave) and champagne. I ate my salad and left early. Spending Saturday night at home while all my friends were out partying was pretty upsetting.

Being at work for much of the week was good as it meant I didn’t have time to think about much. Plus, I went to the gym and walked on the treadmill. It was a little daunting going by myself, but once I was there it was great and even though I had to get up early, it was worth it.  I had so much more energy through the day.  Again, I feel very happy with myself. The people at work have noticed that I am eating healthily and have been very supportive. One person has even brought in some exercise books for me to read and another has offered to walk with me at lunch times. It is so nice to know that people care.

At the end of week one, I have lost 3.5kg and I am so happy!  All of my hard work this week has paid off.  It has not been easy, but seeing the loss on the scales has made it all worthwhile. I am on track and am looking forward to putting in 120% next week!
