The Biggest Loser Club Meal Replacement range has been embraced by members all across Australia, and it seems there is no end of creativity when it comes to customising your favourite Meal Replacement product.
While the Shakes, Soups and Bars are great on their own, we love hearing your tips and suggestions for making the program come to life, so much so that we often try out many of your ideas at Biggest Loser Club HQ!
But it wouldn't be fair to keep these great ideas to ourselves. So this week we're sharing some of our favourite Meal Replacement tips so you can try them at home.
Shakes
If you’re looking to cool down Jamie Smith, who lost 46.1kg following the Meal Replacement Program, is a fountain of knowledge. He suggests, “Put 175mL of water in the freezer until it’s almost frozen. Add a blended banana and a touch of cinnamon to the Banana Shake sachet and then mix with the ice cold water. It’s perfect after a workout.”
With the colder months setting in you don’t always want an ice cold Shake, but 'Bertie' has a hot idea. “I love hot chocolate so I zap my Double Choc Shake in the microwave for a couple of minutes. Drinking hot chocolate for breakfast seems decadently indulgent!”
Second Chance Challenge duo Tanya Gathercole and Conrad Makin reveal their winning tip. “We add a banana to the Vanilla Shake to make sure we get our fruit intake. Shake it really well to make it extra frothy.” 'Bubbly' does the same and says, “It tastes like a Paddle Pop!” Karen Gorzynska opts for frozen berries and plain low-fat yoghurt in her Vanilla Shake.
If you’re struggling to function in the mornings without your caffeine hit listen up! Series 3 Biggest Loser Finalist and Meal Replacement ambassador Alison Braun reveals, “If you need some caffeine in the morning, drop a shot of espresso into the Double Choc Shake. It’s coffee and breakfast all in one!”
Soups
With autumn here and winter not far around the corner, there is nothing better than a heart-warming Meal Replacement Soup. Nobody likes a lumpy soup though, so 'Mareer62' is on hand with the ultimate way to prepare your favourite flavour. “When preparing my Soup I add a little water and stir thoroughly. I then add some more water and stir again, before filling to the top and stirring one final time.”
Mary Craven reveals, “I like to add an individual packet of mixed frozen vegies to the Soups.” Alex Beggs agrees saying, “I like to add some carrot and celery to thicken it up and make you feel fuller for longer.” For full-on veg flavour try one of our new Vegetable Soups in either Roasted Tomato or Spring Veg.
Bars
When Jodie Curran is dashing from work to opera rehearsals there’s not always time for a home-cooked meal. “The Meal Replacement Bars are great to eat on the train to work. I tend to have one with yoghurt as well to really fill me up!”
Second Chance Challenge winner Kate Smith is one to listen to when it comes to the Meal Replacement Program. Sharing her words of wisdom she says, “If you’re having a salad and a Meal Replacement Bar, have them about half an hour apart. It makes you feel fuller for longer and you don’t have to snack before a training session.”
Until now, everyone loved the Choc Caramel and Berry & Yoghurt Snack Bars. However it seems that the new kid on the block is tickling everyone’s taste buds. 'Velvet_Duff' hails, “I have just discovered the new Choc Mint Snack Bar. I love it! It reminds me of a mint slice biscuit and is a great way to satisfy chocolate cravings. I’ll definitely have this one again and at only 110 calories I only have to walk for 23 minutes!”
Shake it up!
A Biggest Loser Club Meal Replacement Shake isn’t a shake without a shaker. Karina Vagg reveals, “I’m always in such a rush in the mornings that I make a Shake and drink it in the car on the way to work. It fits perfectly into the cup holder.”
Co-ambassador for the Meal Replacement range Sam Rouen offers his top tip. “Buy a couple of shakers as it’s handy to have one at work and at home.” Lesson learnt!
